About me

I am a qualified teacher working as a self-employed maths tutor from my home in Pocklington.

I teach all sorts of people all sorts of maths with the intention of helping them to become more confident and proficient and to help them to achieve their objectives. I enjoy maths and think it is fun (when you can do it!) and hope to pass this enthusiasm on and to help students to get to a place where they enjoy it too.

After University I worked in both the public and private sector.  I started out as an analyst in the NHS, became a Research Manager for a Police Force and then worked for Aviva as an internal management consultant and project manager.

In 2007 I trained as a secondary maths teacher. I achieved Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) but chose not to teach in a school. I have been working as a private maths tutor in Pocklington for the last fourteen years. I also have an adult education qualification (PTLLS) and I am a GCSE and 'AS' level examiner.
